You can sell out shows around the world and get nominated for two Grammy’s, but it won’t be enough to impress your kids unless one of your songs is featured in the video game Just Dance. At least Lukas Graham’s kids won’t be impressed. The Danish pop star sat down with Mix Afternoon host McCabe to talk about how being missed is “a sign that you’re loved”, going full dad mode when not on tour, and staying in shape to keep up with his kids. Lukas’s new album is expected to drop in early January 2023, but until then you can hear his new single “Wish You Were Here” featuring Khalid. Listen to McCabe talk about all this and more with Lukas Graham on the Mix New Music Club Podcast!
A lot of up and coming artists were discovered on TikTok during the pandemic. But not everyone had their account created by the queen of TikTok herself, Charlie D’Amelio. Mimi sat down with Mix Afternoon host Jenny V to talk about dropping out of school at 15 to pursue music, making exes feel her anger through her music, and weird fan interactions. Getting through breakups is tough, but who better to help you navigate dating apps than the man who literally partnered (and then was kicked off of) with TInder? We’re talking about the hilarious Lewis Capaldi who helped McCabe revamp his dating profiles, albeit in a more “murdery” sounding way. Lewis stopped by the studio to talk to afternoon hosts McCabe and Jenny about paying a mortgage on a house he hates, releasing music with a new sound after the pandemic, and working with his bestie/nemesis Niall Horan. Lewis has a news album coming out next year, but until then you can enjoy his new single “Forget Me” right here on the Mix. Listen to McCabe and Jenny V talk about all this and more with Lewis Capaldi on the Mix New Music Club!
Sometimes someone makes a completely unrelated decision that changes your whole life. For Charlotte Sands, that was Harry Styles’s decision to wear a dress on the cover of Vogue. Charlotte wrote a song about it and, like a lot of music these days, it blew up on the internet. Charlotte sat down with Mix Afternoon host Jenny V to talk about being the queen of manifesting, how her Bonnaroo set getting cancelled was a devastating blow turned opportunity, and her Riot Fest set. Charlotte has new music coming out in December and a new music video coming out for “Tantrum.” Listen to Jenny talk about all this and more with Charlotte Sands on the Mix New Music Club!
She’s been compared to Kacey Musgraves but Ingrid Andress doesn’t believe that she fits into just one genre. Her focus? Making music that she actually likes! Ingrid sat down with Mix New Music Club Podcast hosts Jenny V and Dash to dish on touring with Kieth Urban, preferring to tour by bus instead of plane (we’re not sure if anybody has ever said that before), and how releasing her album during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic was a small blessing in disguise. Ingrid’s new album “Good Person” released this past August and we can’t wait to see what she makes next! Listen to Jenny and Dash talk about all this and more with Ingrid Andress on the Mix New Music Club!
Up and coming superstar Lauren Spencer Smith got her start on American Idol, then her music blew up on TikTok, and then Jimmy Fallon had her on his internationally popular TV show. Now comes her biggest challenge yet…being interviewed by McCabe and Jenny! Super producer Charlie Puth really can do it all…except convince us to adopt a new radio jingle from a now defunct jazz station. But hey, a guy can dream! Charlie sat down with Mix Afternoon hosts McCabe and Jenny to talk about producing music out of his bedroom, his dream of having 100 features on one song, and being at the same Miss Universe pageant as Jenny V where Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner! Charlie’s new album will be out in October so there’s plenty of time to catch up on his music before then.
