Jimmy Eat World frontman Jim Adkins is hoping the band will record a new album this year.
Speaking to ABC Audio, Adkins shares that he’s “always working on new material,” but anything that he’s written so far is currently in its infant stages.
“How much of that ends up being Jimmy Eat World songs, I have no idea,” he says.
Adkins says that the all-important band meeting during which they “dive into the pile and see what we got” has yet to happen.
“There might be enough for a new album,” Adkins muses.
“I would think that’s our job this year, is make a new album,” he adds.
Jimmy Eat World’s most recent album is 2019’s Surviving, which the band played in its entirety last month during the first in a series of streaming concerts. The third and final announced stream, which will feature a front-to-back performance of 1999’s Clarity, premieres February 12.
