In Illinois, there are an estimated 45,000 people living with HIV and AIDS, and about 1,300 people are diagnosed in Illinois every year. HIV harms the body’s immune system and a cure, as of today, does not exist. But, with the proper medical care, people can live long, happy lives whilst having HIV. AIDS Foundation Chicago works tirelessly to create equity and justice for people living with HIV and its chronic conditions, with a goal of one day having no new HIV cases. With us this morning to talk more about AIDS Foundation Chicago (otherwise known as AFC) and the work they are doing for people living with HIV and AIDs is John Peller, President and CEO of AFC. 11/13/22
