(NEW YORK) — While few would argue that 2020 has been a stressful year, a new survey shows a majority of Americans fear November 3, Election Day, will be the most nerve-wracking yet.

A non-scientific poll of 2,000 U.S. adults commissioned by the mental wellness technology company Feelmore Labs and Cove shows that 55% of them predict today will be the most frazzling day of an already frazzling year.

According to the survey, Millennials and Generation X are feeling the Election Day stress the most, at a respective rate of 61% to 58%.  By comparison, just one third of Baby Boomers admitted they’re rattled about the day.

Sixty-three percent of those polled said COVID-19 was the year’s top stressor, and 95% say the anxieties of 2020 are negatively impacting their health. Forty-five percent say they’ve had trouble sleeping, with four in ten of the Americans polled saying worry over the the COVID-19 pandemic has sapped their sleep.

According to the poll, 44% say they’re having trouble focusing, and 41% say they’re having issues maintaining their weight.

Not surprisingly, 67% of those polled agreed they just want this year to be over already.

If we can get to sleep, wake us in 2021.
